If selected to perform a solo, please read and sign the following:
Lessons for solos are billed as follows: Solo: $30 per half hour
Solos must be scheduled with Tiffany or Lexie on the monthly calendar. Most of these Time slots will be Monday through Thursday, with few slots on Fridays with Lexie upon request, granted she has enough slots to fill for a Friday. If you Schedule a private lesson, you are expected to pay for that private lesson unless you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice. Dancers will be charged if they fail to cancel within 24 hours’ notice (you are required to pay half of the late notice of $15) Solos fees need to be added to your monthly tuition. If you cancel 3 private lessons, you will be excused from solo. You must compete at least 3x to be eligible to perform your solo at recital. Soloists are required to stay for their solo awards, Coaches are not expected to stay for soloist awards. Once competitions for dancers are paid for there is no refund/credit if decide to forfeit.
If a dancer is to register for a competition for a title/improv they need to prepay with the registration in advance or pay at the door. If you do not include in payment, then you will have to pay at the door. We will not take $ after Registration!
There is no guarantee for practice every week due to limited availability. Dancers are expected to practice solo on their own as well as scheduled practices.
Performing solo is a privilege, not a right. Group Routines MUST come first. If at any time a dancer does not do his/her best and gives complete effort in group routines, the dancers solo may be pulled.
In order to qualify for a solo, a dancer must participate in at least 2 group dances, including a skill appropriate lyrical group and skill appropriate jazz group.
NEW SOLO RULES FOR THIS SEASON: *** Due to an increase in interest in solo competition, we will be putting a cap on the number of solos. It is to the coach(s) discretion how many solos they see fit to compete. This decision will be made based on dancer’s ability and readiness, dancer’s overall commitment to the responsibilities, time, and effort required to do solo, and scheduling.
Given the substantial commitment required for solo private lessons, it is essential that individuals adhere to their scheduled time slots, thereby ensuring participants on a weekly basis. As such, any cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a charge of $15, representing half the lesson fee, especially in instances where the scheduled time is not utilized by another person to fill the cancelled slot.
****There will be a new requirement for soloists for their difficulty level placement. Dancers will move up to the next level on their third year of competing a solo and/or once a dancer has placed numerous 1st overall or top-ranking scores (ex. Consistently scoring highest award per competition i.e. crystal/diamond/double platinum etc.). The soloist can have a trial run for a new season in beginner level for the first competition ONLY but after that its mandatory to bump up. This is to ensure the best interest of each dancer and allow you to continue striving towards top placement. We hope you understand this bump rule and any questions feel free to ask.
